We hope you are all ok and keeping yourselves fit, healthy and of course keeping those brains working?! I have been out running and for some lovely walks in the countryside near where I live: my legs have just about recovered from doing the Joe Wicks’ workouts and I can manage to walk up and down the stairs again without my muscles protesting in pain! I know that Mr Helliwell has been doing lots of exercise too- and is doing very well at following his timetable-I’m trying not to sound surprised!
The Year 6 Team have been working really hard so that we are prepared for when we go back. We have even been preparing and improving learning for next year too! It is really important to use this time wisely. It has also been lovely to make phone calls and to hear your voices but when we were all chatting and comparing notes (because that’s what teachers do- we talk!), we were a little concerned; it seems that not everyone is having a go at the work we are setting. In the same way that we need to use this time wisely, you need to as well! All the work in the Home Learning should be familiar to you if you have any problems at all then please email us (year6@dale.derby.sch.uk) we are still here to help.
I have been doing far too much internet shopping but was very excited yesterday when three shiny new books arrived on my doorstep! I know that Miss Wilson has been doing the same and I can’t wait to tell her about my latest purchases; I’ve read one already this morning!
How are you enjoying Miss Buchanan’s Maths jokes? Quite often when my phone goes, it’s a new Maths joke that Miss Buchanan is trying out on us! Please feel free to find your own Maths jokes and help Miss Buchanan out- if you email them to us, your joke might make it onto the Year 6 Home Learning page.
