At Dale and Stonehill, help is always available for anyone that needs it…
We promote positive mental health and wellbeing for our whole school family.
We recognise that mental health and emotional wellbeing is just as important to our lives as physical health.
Our role is to ensure that children:
Learn how to maintain positive mental health
Are able to manage times of change and stress
Know where they can go if they need help and support.
Our aim is to be a school where:
All children are valued
Children feel able to talk openly with trusted adults about their problems

Every Mind Matters
The NHS are providing some great resources to support families with making changes to their health and happiness, from what they eat, to how often they exercise and top tips on getting a great nights sleep. They have sourced lots of great apps to help you get started.
They have also launched the ‘Every Mind Matters’ Campaign to tackle mental health issues. Here you will find information to help you look after yours and your families mental health. Advice includes; coping with loneliness, how to manage with money worries, support during the pandemic and self care for young people.
The Blurt Foundation
Self Care can be difficult to explain to children. By guiding and encouraging our children to embrace different aspects of self-care, we can help them develop the skills through demonstration rather than complex explanation.
Blurt-it-out are a social enterprise, dedicated to supporting people with depression. They have lots of suggestions on how to support children with their Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing. Please click here to be taken to blurt.org >

A regular bedtime routine and a good nights sleep works wonders for the body and mind. Help your child get to bed on time by following these simple steps:
Have a relaxing bath/shower
Enjoy a warm drink
Pop on some comfy PJs
Clean your teeth
Read a bedtime story together
Have a cuddle and say goodnight :)
Dental Hygiene
A healthy and happy mouth is another essential to a healthy and happy human! Looking after your teeth and gums is an important step in self care and needs to be included in your child’s routine from as early as 6 months old. Encourage your child to brush their teeth twice a day for 2 minutes each time. You could buy a funny toothbrush or play a song while brushing to help them along.
